Reading a Recipe

What information is included on each recipe card in your meal plan.

Each recipe in your meal plan includes everything you need to decide what to cook and how to prepare it.

What's on a recipe card

Recipe cards in the planner show a quick overview:

  • Title and image
  • Cuisine type (e.g., Italian, Mexican, Thai)
  • Prep time, cook time, and total time
  • Fit score badge — color-coded to show how well the recipe matches your food profile

Full recipe details

When you view a recipe's full details, you'll find:

  • Servings — how many portions the recipe makes
  • Ingredients — listed with specific quantities
  • Instructions — step-by-step cooking directions
  • Nutrition facts — calories, protein, carbs, and fat per serving
  • Fit score — a percentage from 0 to 100 reflecting how closely the recipe aligns with your dietary preferences, restrictions, and goals

External recipe source

Many recipes include a link to their original source. Click the external link to view the recipe on its source website for additional context, photos, or reader tips.

Understanding fit scores

Fit scores help you quickly judge how well a recipe suits you:

  • Green (80–100) — Excellent match
  • Yellow (60–79) — Good match
  • Red (below 60) — Low match

Scores factor in your nutrition goals, dietary restrictions, cuisine preferences, and your history of accepting or swapping recipes. They improve over time as Eatgent learns what you like.
